On Saturday Linlithgow travelled to Double Hedges Park to face Musselburgh. Linlithgow’s side was severely depleted for this match due to a mixture of injuries and players on holidays and work commitments.
Musselburgh won the toss and asked Linlithgow to bat first. The innings never really got started and only John Strachan really put up any resistance to the tight bowling from the hosts. John was dismissed by the final ball of the innings for a patient 41 from 105 balls.
In response Musselburgh came out swinging and despite losing a couple of soft early wickets, they never looked in much trouble. Debutant Cameron Graham was the pick of the bowlers for Linlithgow with 1 wicket for 21 from 6 overs. Safeer Ahammed and “occasional” bowler Kevin Stump picked up the other two wickets to fall in the innings.
Musselburgh won the match by 7 wickets and collected the maximum 20 points to Linlithgow’s 4. This weekend Linlithgow face struggling Watsonian’s at Boghall in a 1pm start.
