Saturday 17th July saw Linlithgow 2’s host Livingston 2’s at the bcg in the local derby match. Skipper Andrew Graham won the toss and elected to bat in what were very favourable batting conditions. Kevin Stump and Rory Thomson opened the batting and soon began to build a partnership. Rory fell for 29 with the score 91 and Chris Ronalson soon followed putting a minor halt to Linlithgow’s good start. This saw Graeme Johnston join Kev at the crease who together punished the visitors bowling. Kevin eventually was trapped LBW for a very good 78. When skipper Andrew Graham and Alex Whitmarsh both fell in the same over it looked like Livingston might still have a glimmer of hope at restricting the hosts to an achievable target. Alan Williamson however came to the crease and together with Graeme added a further 60 runs together before Graeme was run out in the final over of the innings for 93. Alan Williamson ended up with 17* and Rob Potter 2* saw Linlithgow score a very good total of 244-6.

Linlithgow’s defence got off to a poor start with Graeme Mckenzie “pulling” his hamstring in the 3rd over . Rumours going round the field was that he didn’t fancy fielding and was more than happy to stand at slip but he strongly denies these allegations. Livingston lost wickets at regular intervals with wickets for Gary Kellet (1), Kevin Stump (1), Andrew Graham (1), Rory Thomson (2), Rob Potter (2) and pick of the bowlers Alan Williamson with 3 wickets for 13 runs off 7 overs. Livingston were bowled out for 116 runs.

Linlithgow’s 128 run victory sees them remain top of the league as they travel to Inverleith Park this Saturday to face OCCC.
